It has been 5 years since Summorum Pontificum was issued by the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, on July 7, 2007. Summorum Pontificum unchained the Traditional Latin Mass, now known as the extraordinary form, making it possible for any priest who wants to celebrate it to do so, as well as any stable group of faithful to request a regular Latin Mass. There is still resistance and roadblock thrown up by some liberal bishops, but the availability is much better than it was.
