I thought something was coming today!
It looks like the Holy Father’s response to the last revision of the Doctrinal Preamble to the Society of Saint Pius X is going to be delivered today. From the article (original from Vatican Insider, translation by Rorate Caeli):
I know there are a lot of people in the Society opposed to an “agreement” without doctrinal differences being worked out first. I have also seen, true or not, that this first step would not so much be an agreement but a “recognition”, something like a recognition that the SSPX is truly Catholic, and recognizing that all of their sacraments are valid (including Confession and Matrimony).
I don’t know what the right course is. I don’t want a split in the society, where Bishop Fellay and the society structure comes in, but the other three bishops and the majority of SSPX faithful leave to form another SSPX.
I will continue to pray that “God’s will be done”.
